Ethnographic Museum of Transylvania – now accessible
On September 30, 2009 was launched the accessible section of the Ethnographic Museum of Transylvania in Cluj-Napoca. This accessibility is a real, truly made for blind people, for access to culture. Pontes was a consultant partner in this important achievement, first of its kind in Romania, notably through the contribution made by Ioan Cîmpean and Florin Radulescu. The museum has now a section dedicated to the blind people, where different objects from the rural area can be inferred, all with labels in Braille. Also there in each section, such as ceramics, there is information printed in Braille, designs in relief etc. Audio guides were made in MP3 format. The corridors of the museum have tactile markings for blind users to find the way to any room or place. Very important, it was made a model of the museum which can be accessed at the entrance.
