On the Skating Ring

It’s winter again and this means that we’re back on the skating ring. As children in the Highschool for the Visually Impaired already got used to, we’re giving them again the chance to practice skating or start learning it.
The project, coordinated by Ovidiu Baboş and started in 2007, has been developing each winter, due to the kindness of the managers and trainers at the skating ring, within Iulius Mall in Cluj, who are offering us free entrance for all students and volunteers.
The students, accompanied by their sports teachers and many volunteers, have the chance to learn how to skate, meanwhile developing their mobility skills and their self-confidence. Considering the small number of sports that are accessible to visually impaired children, and especially to blind children, we are extremely happy to include skating among the sports that our students can practice confidently.
